What Is Glass Fusing?
Glass fusing is the bonding of separate pieces of glass by high heat, administered in a kiln. It’s easy to learn the basics of glass fusing, it’s fun, and the possibilities are endless. There is a vast range of techniques, and we are always experimenting!
Believe it or not, the art of Glass Fusing has been around since about 2000 BCE. However, glass fusing lost its' popularity as Stained Glass swept the scene during the Renaissance period. It wasn't until the 1960s that glass fusing re-emerged, now glass fusing is one of the fastest-growing art forms.
What will I learn?
At The Glass Bar, you have the opportunity to experiment with many different styles of glass fusing. As the world of glass fusing expands, so does our collection of materials. We are always on the hunt for new techniques to keep our students excited and engaged.
Who are these classes for & what should I expect?
We love working with little artists, ages 6 & up. Please see our classes for kids for more information if you are looking for classes for under 16 years of age. We design our classes with beginners in mind but have many more advanced options up our sleeves. Students will learn the basics of glass fusing including glass cutting, designing, and insight into kiln working.
Any fused glass project must go into the kiln overnight and will be available for pick up at a later date (avg. 2-3 weeks). We will contact you when your project is ready. We keep our classes small, with no more than 12 students to ensure equal attention to all students. Our classes do have a minimum attendance requirement.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of the scheduled event may receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled event or subject to credit only. Cancellations made within 7 days or less will not be subject to any credits or refunds. No-shows will not be subject to any credits or refunds.

Bowl Draping

Expand your knowledge of glass fusing to design your very own fused glass bowl.
You will gain intermediate glass fusing knowledge. We will start with basic glass cutting and fusing skills. As the class progresses, we will graduate to advanced education, including an in-depth look at kiln working. At the end of class, you will have a basic understanding of the slumping and draping process.
Students start with a blank base piece and have full control of design.
5 different bowl shapes to choose from.

FANATIC Fusing, 6-Week workshop
Tuesday Evenings, 6 pm - 9 pm. 6-Week Session.
Whether you're a beginner interested in a new hobby, or a veteran looking to try new techniques, this session is for you!
We're going to cover a lot during this session. Our first class will cover basic skills such as cutting and grinding (if needed). We will work with basic techniques at first, graduating to more advanced methods. The possibilities are endless!
Returning students will be challenged to expand their knowledge. This is your opportunity to grow and define your skill set.
