Dichroic Glass Classes

DECORATIVE

The decorative technique involves starting with a black base that you cut/shape to your liking. Then you decorate the piece using glass remnants.
SHEET

Sundays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The sheet pendant is starting with a piece of dichroic that you choose based on the color sample provided. You will shape that piece and the joining base piece to fit.
ETCHED

Etching starts with the sheet technique. Then, you will chose stickers to create a design and use etching paste to remove the excess dichroic film, leaving the design you created with the stickers in the dichroic.
STACKED

Sundays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Stacked is the process of designing a shape out of a base of glass, and then decorating the base with dichroic glass. Then you cover that layer of dichroic with a second layer and cap the entire pendant. The final result will show multiple layers.

bowl draping class

Expand your knowledge of glass fusing to design your very own fused glass bowl.
You will gain intermediate glass fusing knowledge. We will start with basic glass cutting and fusing skills. As the class progresses, we will graduate to advanced education, including an in-depth look at kiln working. At the end of class, you will have a basic understanding of the slumping and draping process.
Perfect for beginners
Students start with a blank base piece and have full control of the design.

Whether you're a beginner interested in a new hobby, or a veteran looking to try new techniques, this session is for you!
We're going to cover a lot during this session. Our first class will cover basic skills such as cutting and grinding (if needed). We will work with basic techniques at first, graduating to more advanced methods. The possibilities are endless!
Returning students will be challenged to expand their knowledge. This is your opportunity to grow and define your skill set.

Optical Illusions

We're experimenting with some funky stuff over here, come explore with us!
Using different applications of clear glass we will create mind-bending optical illusions out of glass!
This will be a two-part class. During the first session we will lay our stringers on special reed glass. This piece will need to fire in the kiln before the second class. In the second class we will use rods and blobs (sounds crazy, just trust us) to design our fused glass optical pieces.

FUSED GLASS CORAL Bowls
Friday Dec 15th 7pm
These are so fun, we can't wait to share this technique with you!
In this class, we will discuss basic bowl draping techniques and kiln working.
We will start the class with detailed glass-cutting and safety instructions. Then you will move on to assembling your coral bowl using strips of glass that you will cut. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the assembly of your pieces, ensuring an amazing outcome!

IRIDESCENT COLLAGE BOWL

Iridescent glass is something spectacular! We are so excited to finally be able to offer you the opportunity to create something awesome with it.
This class will begin with a lesson in glass safety and cutting. You will start with a black circle of glass that will serve as your base piece to decorate. You will assemble a unique design by covering the bowl completely, using only iridescent shards of glass.
Once finished, the pieces will go in for a full fuse and then another firing to slump the pieces into a bowl. You'll leave with a whole new understanding of fused glass and appreciation for the craft.

We supply all tools and materials needed at a 15% discount to our students. You are welcomed to use our tools for your first session, but as you continue, you are required to buy your own.

MOSAICS vase mini-workshop

Welcome to our immersive 3-part Mosaic Vase Mini Session, where creativity knows no bounds! By the end this mini session you'll not only walk away with a magnificent mosaic vase, but with newfound skills, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the art of mosaic crafting
Guided by our expert instructor, you'll wield pre-cut glass rectangles, squares, and triangles, along with an assortment of glass nuggets and tiles.
No experience is necessary.
Ages 16+, children 10-16 permitted with a registered adult.

INTRO TO MOSAICS
Saturdays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us as we explore the ancient art of Mosaics. In this two-part class, students will work to design a 7x7 trivet, a picture frame, or a tray.
We will work from a selection of precut materials, such as square tiles, penny rounds, and beads.
Wendy will challenge students to create a design they are proud of! In part one, you will learn how to use glass nippers to shape pre-cut pieces of glass. Using this technique you will work to design your trivet. We will send you home with grout and detailed instructions so that the pieces can dry overnight.
No experience is necessary.

6-week mosaic session
Tuesdays 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm,
Wednesdays 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
During this 6-week session, we're going to explore the ancient technique of Mosaic art. You will create beautiful mosaic masterpieces using a variety of techniques and materials.
We’re going to start off easy using only mosaic tile nippers to shape precut pieces of glass. Your first & “practice project” will use these techniques to design a trivet.
In the following weeks, you will learn how to grout and more advanced techniques of cutting. You will use traditional mosaic pieces such as square tiles, penny rounds, beads, and stained glass. You will design and create a 12X12 mirror.
No experience is necessary.
