Quick Details
Join us as we explore the art of glass fusion and create vibrant suncatchers.
Glass fusing is the bonding of separate pieces of glass by high heat, administered in a kiln. It’s easy to learn the basics of glass fusing, it’s fun, and the possibilities are endless!
Each session will begin with a thorough glass safety lesson. Then, students will learn basic glass fusing techniques such as cutting and grinding of glass and working with frit. Students will each receive a 4×4 glass base tile that they will design to their liking. The final result can be used as a functional coaster, or a decorative suncatcher. Learned techniques include cutting straight lines, curved lines, and circles. Students will brainstorm ideas to create a piece they will be proud of!
