The Glass Bar studio specializes in Dichroic Glass, Glass Fusing, Stained Glass, and Mosaics.
What makes The Glass Bar special is our commitment to quality instruction and supporting local artists.
When we (Sheryl and Jordan, the mother-daughter team) opened The Glass Bar in 2013, we knew what we wanted to accomplish.
We wanted to create a space where local artists could thrive by selling and teaching their craft. We continued to teach glass art classes to keep the craft of glass alive and growing. It took us a few years to lay the groundwork, but in the years to follow our tribe grew into the perfect blend it is today. Wendy and Tracey both came to us in our early years, initially as students but as our relationships strengthened and grew, they joined the team.
Our instructors aren’t just teachers, they’re experts in their craft. They’re enthusiastic, nurturing, and fun! We love spreading our love of glass art to our students and we’re hungry to to explore more!
JORDAN FULLER
Founder
Jordan Fuller’s journey into the world of glass art began after beating stage 2 Burkitt’s lymphoma, a battle that fueled her determination to embrace life’s beauty and pursue her passions wholeheartedly.
She later graduated from Emmanuel College with a degree in writing, viewing it as a means to an end to entrepreneurship.
Now, as a mother of two and a survivor, Jordan has found herself drawn to teaching students, sharing her love for the mesmerizing techniques of dichroic glass and glass fusing, and inspiring others to explore their own creativity.
TRACEY ADAMS
Stained Glass Instructor
Tracey has had a passion for design as long as she can remember. As a little girl, she was always redecorating her room and learning new hand craft skills.
Inspiration to learn the art/craft of stained glass came from her grandfather. His tools and the beautiful stained glass on his work bench mesmerized her. His “gifts of love” to family members made decades ago still stand as a wonderful legacy for him.
She continued training her eye for design through a bachelor’s degree in Interior design.
And now that she has been studying stained glass and various techniques for over 25 years, she is eager to share her knowledge.
She prides herself on adapting her teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of her students to ensure their success. To Tracey, there is no greater joy than witnessing an apprehensive student take on the challenge, and ‘crush’ that finish line of success. Tracey first attended The Glass Bar as a student in 2015. Along with her extensive experience, she brought captivating energy. We knew that she would make an amazing addition to our team as an instructor and she has been delivering quality instruction since 2017.
WENDY BIRCHMIRE
Mosaics Instructor
Wendy has been crafting since she was a little girl. But, it wasn’t until she retired that she had the opportunity to focus on one medium. Fascinated by glass, she began by taking stained glass classes. Quickly, she found that she was accumulating many small glass pieces. Mindful of the waste, Wendy decided to learn the art of mosaics to put the fragments to good use. Wendy takes an ecological approach to much of her work. The picture frames she designs are all up-cycled, often discarded due to broken glass. Wendy brings new life to her pieces by adding glass remnants, broken china, or other recycled bits.
As an established artist, she became a member of the Dedham Square Artist Guild. Since then, she has exhibited her work around Massachusetts and has participated in many juried art shows. You can find her mosaics for sale in local artisan stores, like The Glass Bar. Wendy is also happy to create personalized commissioned pieces. She has been teaching for many years and has recently become a fabulous addition to our team.
