Quick Details
Explore the Exciting, Yet Mysterious Art of Dichromatic Art!
Learned techniques include cutting straight lines, curved lines, and circles, advanced knowledge in dichroic glass, and etching techniques. You will also gain insight into kiln working. Class includes instruction, use of tools, and materials. The Glass Bar is the ONLY glass studio that teaches these dichromatic art techniques!
-
The decorative technique involves starting with a black base that you cut/shape into your liking. Then you decorate the piece using glass remnants.
-
The sheet pendant is starting with a piece of dichroic that you choose based on the color sample provided. You will shape that piece and the joining base piece to fit.
-
Etching starts with the sheet technique. Then, you will choose stickers to create a design and use etching paste to remove the excess dichroic film, leaving the design you created with the stickers in the dichroic.
-
Stacked is the process of designing a shape out of a base of glass, then decorating the base with dichroic glass. Then you cover that layer of dichroic with a second layer and cap the entire pendant. The final result will show multiple layers.
